The Marriage Supper of the Lamb

There were several close friends and family members who I invited to my wedding, and they actually RSVPd, but then they told me last minute that they weren’t able to make it anymore because of other things that came up. Some had unfortunate and/or unforeseen circumstances such as sickness, birth or death in the family, some had a lack of funds and no transportation, some forgot to ask for the day off work, and some had other events that they decided to go to instead. I could understand everyone’s situation. But my initial thought to myself was, “But I already paid the PRICE for your meal, and I already RESERVED a seat for you at the reception.”

As I sat in my room, grieved, and thinking about all these confirmed guests who opted out of coming to my wedding at the last minute, I heard Jesus speak to me loud and clear via the Holy Spirit. He said to me: “Imagine how I feel. I paid the PRICE [with the shedding of my blood] for many people, and I have RESERVED seats [in my Father’s house] to seat many people at the marriage supper of the Lamb, but many of those who I paid the ultimate price for and prepared a space for will not be attending my wedding. Many are called, but few are chosen.”

WOWZERS!!!!!! What a REVELATION!!!!! At that very moment, I was able to empathize with Jesus!!!

It’s not that God doesn’t want to see us make it into the Kingdom of Heaven, because he actually does want us to make it in! In fact, He has already given us the invitation! Sending His only begotten son, Jesus, to die on the cross and to shed his blood was the initial invitation. The constant convictions and tugs from the Holy Spirit to repent and believe in Jesus is a reminder. The consistency that other believers have in sharing the gospel with us on a daily basis is another reminder. But many of us have been declining the invite, because just like in the days of Noah, we have been selfishly caught up in our own lives! We value our own life more than the Son of God’s life! We are more concerned about all the things that we have to do, and have not considered what He has already done and the preparations that he has already made–not even for himself, but for US! And for those of us who have accepted the invite to be saved, many of us are falling away. Many of us in these last days are becoming apostate, or are renouncing the faith. Many of us are growing weary and are allowing the troubles and the busyness of this life to prevent us from attending the marriage supper of the Lamb at the last day.

After God shared this insight with me, it really ministered to me!!! After that revelation, I didn’t mind people missing out on my wedding as much any more–For me, it would just be a waste of a couple hundred DOLLARS. I can always replace that. But for someone to miss out on the wedding supper of the Lamb, that would be the waste of a LIFE! You can’t replace that! Jesus literally made himself to be a sacrifice, and he died [and rose again] for our sins, so that we could attend his wedding! If we don’t accept the sacrifice he made for us, no other sacrifice remains! Don’t let Jesus’ death be in vain! Don’t make any excuses as to why you won’t accept the invitation to get saved right NOW! Don’t wait until you are older to get saved, because tomorrow is not promised.

And if you have accepted the invitation to salvation already, don’t fall away from the faith! Don’t put your foot to the plow and look back! Don’t fall into apostasy! Don’t allow school, work, your career, your relationship, your money, your traditions, your personal ministry, your fears, doubts or unbeliefs, your sinful addictions or any of life’s troubles keep you from making it to the biggest wedding of all time!!! Don’t be distracted! Don’t grow weary! Don’t make any excuses for why you can’t make it! If you want to make it to the wedding supper of the Lamb, you have to do whatever it takes to ensure that you make it there. Make sacrifices if you have to! Don’t miss out on this wedding! You can’t afford to! It’s vital for you to be at this wedding! It won’t be a wedding without you! Why? Because in this case, you aren’t merely just a guest! YOU ARE THE BRIDE [OF CHRIST]!!!
