I had a vision from God this morning of me walking into a town full of physical and spiritual darkness. In the town, the people were very fearful, and they were carrying heavy burdens in their hearts of guilt, shame and self-condemnation. Now when I had walked into the town, I was illuminated with a glorious light, and my whole body shined with a pure, white glow. And on my chest was written the word TRANSPARENT. It glowed also.

The people of the town were all hiding in their houses, in their storefronts and etc. And when I came into the town, they peeped out their windows and cracked their doors open and stuck their heads out to see who I was.

They were hesitant to come out at first, but as I stood there in the middle of their town, saturated with this glorious light, I began to share my testimony with them about the wonderful things God had done for me, and I was transparent about my struggles with sin, but also about how God was full of grace, mercy, patience, forgiveness and love. As I kept testifying, the people gained hope, courage, joy and faith, and they came from their dark hiding spaces and made their way outside into the light.

After the vision went away, I was reminded of this scripture:

“There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.” -John 1:6-8

My name is Davon Johnson and I am Transparent. I am not the light, but I have come to testify to those who live in darkness (guilt, shame, self-condemnation, bondage) about the light (forgiveness, mercy, grace, liberty)… The light which is found in Jesus Christ.
