Our Problem Statement

Human sexuality is one of God’s greatest gifts. According to Scripture, God created sex to be experienced within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman as an expression of love, intimacy, unity, and the creation of family. When lived according to God’s divine design, sexuality promotes healthy relationships, strong families, emotional well-being, and thriving communities.

Yet society is experiencing an unprecedented crisis of sexual brokenness. Sexual behaviors that were once considered morally harmful have increasingly become normalized and even celebrated through media, entertainment, education, technology, and cultural movements. As biblical truth regarding sexuality has become increasingly rejected, many individuals are left searching for identity, love, acceptance, and fulfillment through sexual expression rather than through their identity in Christ.

From a biblical perspective: Sexual immorality—including adultery, fornication, pornography, prostitution, same-sex sexual behavior, lust, and all sexual activity outside God’s divine design—separates people from intimate fellowship with God, damages relationships, enslaves individuals to sin, and produces consequences that affect not only individuals but also families, churches, and entire communities.

From a medical and behavioral health perspective: Many forms of high-risk sexual behavior are associated with measurable increases in sexually transmitted infections (STIs), unintended pregnancies, emotional distress, depression, anxiety, relational instability, substance misuse, intimate partner violence, and adverse childhood experiences.

While every person possesses inherent dignity and should never be reduced to their behaviors or attractions, decades of research demonstrate that sexual decision-making has significant implications for physical, emotional, relational, and societal health.
