Masturbation, A Loophole Around True Abstinence

If you are a single Christian, you should be exercising self-control when it comes to your sexuality. That simply means: “No Sex Before Marriage!” However, although many believers manage to abstain from fornication, they still struggle with masturbation. For those who may try to justify their struggle with masturbation, it’s actually a loophole around true abstinence, because it’s like having sex with yourself for the purposes of self-gratification.

Check it: God originally created and designed us so that we could enjoy the pleasures of sex within the boundaries of marriage. But when we develop a habit or an addiction to masturbation, we oftentimes lose the interest of waiting until marriage in order to receive gratification the way that God intended. If we make it a habit, masturbation will cause us to become self-sufficient when it comes to our sexuality. Masturbation will cause us to believe that we don’t need a husband or a wife to experience sexual pleasure–We can “Just Do It” all by our self.

One of the main problems with masturbation, especially among us men, is that with all of that wasted seed, it produces more death than life. It may temporarily relieve us of sexual tension and/or stress, but right afterwards, it leaves us feeling guilty, ashamed, hypocritical and spiritually depleted. And it definitely does not produce the godly offspring that God is looking for.

“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God…” -1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
